Turn a pile of sand into a sand sculpture at The Beach, a giant sandbox complete with sand and carving tools.
4 p.m.
Explore “Jewels of the Great Lakes: Michigan’s National Parks” with travel writer and book author Jim DuFresne
5 p.m.
Discover “Low Maintenance Cottage Gardens” from Michigan Rain Barrels
6 p.m.
Learn about cottage succession planning at “Keeping the Family in the Family Cottage” presented by attorney Mike Weil of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. in Southfield
7 p.m.

 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.    Attend “Digital Photo Boot Camp” to learn the basic technical skills of photography, the relationship between shutter speed, f-stop (aperture) and ISO, how to use histograms to ensure proper exposures, file size, cropping and color adjustments of images for printing and Web use.
